MAHWAH, NJ – Down Town Sports Club is proud to announce the appointment of Sydney Watkins as Director of the GYM RATZ Basketball Club. A former Division I player at Manhattan College and accomplished three-point shooter, Watkins brings elite-level experience and a fresh vision to the program.
“Sydney’s combination of high-level playing experience, academic excellence, and passion for developing young athletes makes her the perfect leader for our GYM RATZ program,” said Danny Brown.
Watkins, known for her exceptional three-point shooting in both Bergen County and the MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), aims to transform GYM RATZ into one of the region’s premier development programs. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, basketball IQ, and mental toughness, while fostering an environment where young female athletes can thrive both on and off the court.
“My vision for GYM RATZ goes beyond basketball,” says Watkins. “We’re building a program that empowers young women to become not just better players, but stronger leaders and more confident individuals.”
SPRING 2025 TRYOUTS ANNOUNCEMENT GYM RATZ Basketball Club is now accepting registrations for Spring 2025 season tryouts. Under Coach Watkins’ leadership, the program offers:
